Melissa 'Missy' Greathouse, Executive Director

Missy was named Executive Director by Dispute Resolution Institute’s Board of Directors on October 1, 2016.  She has been employed by DRI since its doors opened in August 2009 serving as Program Administrator and Program Coordinator to several grant funded mediation programs.  These programs include: the First Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Family Mediation Program, the Illinois Agricultural Mediation Program, the Jackson County and Williamson County Small Claims Mediation Programs, the St. Clair County Foreclosure Mediation Program and the First Judicial Circuit Foreclosure Mediation Program.  Missy had an integral role in the development and incubation of the St. Clair County and First Judicial Circuit’s Foreclosure Mediation Programs.  Notably, she authored the First Judicial Circuit Foreclosure Mediation Rule approved by the Illinois Supreme Court on January 28, 2016, and adopted by the First Judicial Circuit on April 1, 2016. 

As a licensed attorney and mediator, Missy assists in planning and providing mediation trainings, provides pro bono mediations on behalf of DRI, and is on the pro bono attorney roster for Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance.  Additionally, from 2011 – 2013 she assisted Southern Illinois University School of Law with BAR Prep for graduates preparing for the BAR exam.

Missy received her Juris Doctorate in 2008 from Southern Illinois University School of Law and licensed in November 2008.  She has completed a 40-Hour Basic Skills and Family Mediation course and numerous advanced mediation trainings.  Additionally, Missy has completed a 10-hour Guardian ad Litem course.  In 2003, Missy received a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Saint Louis University.  Prior to attending law school, she was employed by the St. Louis City Children’s Division as a Foster Care Case Manager and Specialized Foster Home Licensing Worker.

Missy is very active in various organizations.  She previously served on the Illinois Supreme Court Access to Justice Committee on Mediation. In addition, Missy is a member of the following: Illinois State Bar Association – serving on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section Council and the Agricultural Law Section Council; American Bar Association – Section Membership in Dispute Resolution, Environment, Energy and Resources, Family Law, Government and Public Sector Lawyers Division, Solo, Small Firm and General Practice Division, Young Lawyers Division Dispute Resolution Committee; Jackson County Bar Association – past President, CLE Committee Member and past Social Committee Chair; Williamson County Bar Association; Association for Conflict Resolution; Association of Family and Conciliation Courts; National Association for Community Mediation; and American Agricultural Law Association.

In her spare time, Missy is a 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher. Her husband, Lee, works for Maryville University in Chesterfield, MO in IT.  They live in the metro-east area with their daughter, Grace, and two cats, David and Matthew.

 
 

Austin Mathis, PrograMS Manager

Austin started with DRI in May of 2016 as an administrative assistant for the First Circuit Foreclosure Mediation Program. He then became a Program Coordinator for the same program. In 2017 he moved to St. Louis and took over the St. Clair County Foreclosure Mediation Program. He is now a Programs Manager in St. Clair County for the Eviction and Foreclosure Mediation Programs.

Austin has a Masters of Legal Studies degree from Southern Illinois University School of Law. He is a member of the 20th Circuit Pro-Bono Committee. Austin's wife, Holly, is a graphic designer for New Balance. They recently moved back to Southern Illinois after living in St. Louis for the last 5 years with their daughter Margot and Siberian Husky Kuba.

 
 

Elias Arnold, PrograMs Manager

Elias ‘Eli’ Arnold was made Programs Manager on March 1, 2021.  Eli began his career with DRI in 2012 as an unpaid student intern through SIU Carbondale’s Paralegal Extern Program. Since then, he has been employed by DRI in many different positions serving as Administrative Assistant, Program Coordinator, and Law Student Extern, to several grant funded mediation programs.  These programs include: the First Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Family Mediation Program, the Illinois Agricultural Mediation Program, the Jackson County Small Claims Mediation Programs, and the First Judicial Circuit Eviction Mediation Program.  Eli had an integral role in the development of the First Judicial Circuit’s Eviction Mediation Program.  

As a certified mediator, Eli assists in planning and providing mediation trainings and provides pro bono mediations on behalf of DRI for several programs.

In his spare time, Eli and his partner Billy like to take hikes in the beautiful Shawnee Forest with their two dogs, Elsa and Cubby. They live in the Murphysboro, IL area.

 
 

Rosa Druker, Programs Manager

Rosa Druker joined DRI in August 2021 as Program Coordinator for the sixth judicial circuit's eviction mediation program. She currently is a Programs Manager, overseeing eviction mediation in Champaign and Macon Counties, foreclosure mediation in Champaign County, and the pilot Champaign County community mediation program.

After growing up in Champaign, Rosa obtained a bachelor's degree from Macalester College in 2016 in Sociology and minor in Spanish. Rosa has held a number of positions in the nonprofit field, including working as a home visitor with Spanish-speaking children, providing outreach to farmworkers, and acting as a housing case manager.

Rosa is looking forward to launching Champaign county's community mediation program in 2023. When not mediating, Rosa enjoys knitting, spoiling her dog and cat, and reading.

 
 

Clare Killman, Program Coordinator

Clare Killman is a Southeast Missouri native who moved to Southern Illinois one decade ago. With a background in criminal justice reform and being involved in regional politics, alternative dispute resolution models are a sustained area of interest for her. Clare works in our Carbondale office, providing program coordination and mediation services to our First Circuit Family Mediation Program, our statewide Illinois Agricultural Mediation Program, and our Southern Illinois focused Community Mediation Program.

In addition to her role at DRI, Clare currently serves on the board of the Golden Rainbows of Southern Illinois, the Citizen's Advisory Board for the Jackson County State's Attorney, and the Ambassador Committee for the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce. In 2023 she was elected to the Carbondale City Council as the first transgender councilperson in the state of Illinois. As a Southern Illinois Leadership Institute graduate, Clare has a clear commitment to the development of the public and nonprofit sectors of southern Illinois' economy she continues to demonstrate in her work with DRI.

She lives in Carbondale with her dog, cat, turtle, 20 fish, and three dozen houseplants.

 
 

Pauline Mosby, Program Coordinator

Pauline Mosby joined the Dispute Resolution Institute’s team in August 2021, in the capacity of Program Assistant and is now one of our Program Coordinators for the Belleville division in St. Clair. She is also one of our trained Mediators in the State of Illinois.  

She migrated from the Caribbean Island of Jamaica where she worked in the legal field as a Executive Secretary and Paralegal with the prestigious Norman Manley Law School – Legal Aid Clinic where she drafted and submitted petitions (Divorce, Will & Probates, Land matters) to be filed in the Supreme Court of Jamaica, Assisted final year students in respect to them drafting petitions and conducting client’s interviews, and kept a diary of court matters for attorneys to attend court. She also worked as a Legal Secretary to the court Statistician at the Ministry of Justice where she worked with delinquent juveniles.  She worked as an Administrative Assistant at the National Library of Jamaica in the Legal Deposit Department where she also assigned International Standard Book Numbers (ISBNs). 

Pauline now brings to DRI her wealth of knowledge & experiences and represents us by working in the 21st Circuit Court in St. Clair County on our Eviction and Foreclosure matters.  Pauline has a diploma in Paralegal Studies, an Associates Degree in Business Management, and she is certified in Foreclosure Mediation, Eviction Mediation, Contract Law, Secretarial Studies, and Supervisory Management.

Pauline’s 4 children are her pride and joy. Her son Giovanio manages her other son’s, Dmitri, music career. Her daughter Abigale is a Model and Beautician, and her youngest daughter, Sabriel, is in training as a Samurai. In her spare time, she enjoys watching everything relating to real life tv programs. 

 
 

Austin Ward, Program Coordinator

Austin joined DRI’s team in Champaign, Illinois in October 2022. He currently coordinates the development, outreach and marketing of Champaign County's pilot Community Mediation program. Austin has completed a 32-hour Basic Community Mediation Skills training as well as instruction in Trauma-Informed Practices and the Restorative Justice model. 

Austin graduated in January 2022 from Oberlin College with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Environmental Studies. His primary focus was to explore how American communities either break down or grow stronger through challenging experiences such as natural disasters. Throughout his studies, Austin worked in student housing and student government to advocate for his peers through open dialogue and collaborative project-planning. He is most proud of his successful campaign to eliminate single-use plastic bags from campus and provide every student with sustainable alternatives. In addition to his academic accomplishments, Austin has 6 years of sales, event planning, and administrative experience from the hospitality and family entertainment industries. His passion for finding common ground, fostering respectful dialogue, and implementing practical solutions is what brought him to DRI.

In his free time, Austin enjoys looking for wildlife in the forest, amateur astronomy, and cooking new recipes. 

 
 

Danielle Wallace, Administrative Assistant

Danielle started at DRI in May of 2023 as an Administrative Assistant at the Belleville Office. She works with the eviction and foreclosure mediation programs.

Danielle is a native of St. Clair County, living in Marissa all her life. She loves living in a small town. Danielle graduated from Marissa High School in 2015. Then she went on to earn dual Associates degrees in Science and Arts in 2018 from Southwestern Illinois College. After that, Danielle graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in December of 2021 with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Paralegal Studies with a pre-law specialization and minoring in Psychology.

In her personal life, Danielle enjoys spending time with her family, attending weekly Bible study, traveling to new places on her summer vacations, and spending time with her cat Lisa.

 
 

KATIE BELLEFEUILLE, aDMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Katie started at DRI in September 2023 as an administrative assistant in the Champaign office. She works with the eviction and foreclosure programs.

Katie grew up in Minnesota, and recently moved to the Champaign area in 2023. She completed her bachelor's degree from Luther College in 2023, majoring in Political Science and French Language studies. During her time at Luther, she participated in a semester long study abroad program based in Geneva, Switzerland to study International Relations.

In her personal life, Katie enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling.
